Hey there, future homeowners! My name is Jessica Horton and as a Real Estate Broker for over twenty years, I understand that the journey towards closing on your dream home can be an exciting yet nerve-wracking experience. And sometimes, despite all efforts and preparations, delays can happen.

But don’t worry! Here are some common reasons why a real estate closing may get delayed:

  • Issues with the home inspection repairs needing to be resolved. We want to make sure that your future home is in top-notch condition, so it’s important for any issues to be addressed before closing. Sometimes, depending on the type of the loan the buyer is obtaining these repairs may be required in order to close.
  • Delays or even denial of loan by the buyer’s lender. This can happen if there are changes in the buyer’s financial situation or if they fail to meet certain requirements set by the lender. But don’t lose hope, there are often alternative solutions that can be explored.
  • Discrepancies with the home’s appraisal value. The appraisal is a crucial step in the closing process as it ensures that you are not overpaying for the property. If there are any discrepancies, it may take some time to resolve and could delay the closing.

While these delays may be frustrating, remember that they are often for the benefit and protection of both parties involved. As your trusted Real Estate Broker I will do my best to keep things moving smoothly and find solutions to any challenges that may arise. Hang in there, we’ll get you into your new home soon!
